Every person, every family, every business, and every town has a story.

The story of Village Grounds began as a dream at a family meeting in November of 2017, and three generations of our family worked together on this project over the course of the next year. We enlisted the help of many talented friends and local businesses to turn our vision into a reality. Our goal was to create quality coffee drinks and a unique food menu, but also to offer a welcoming environment for people to gather.

Change is inevitable, and the story of our company has been through quite an evolution over the past 115 years.

Many elements of the coffee shop give a nod to the history of our business and the history of Rosendale. All the tables were lovingly crafted from the old floorboards on the upper level of the hardware store. The wood that was on the front of the lawn and garden counter for 60 years was refinished and is now on the front of the serving counter. The John Deere sign on the wall reminds us of our roots in the farm implement industry. Pictures hanging throughout the space offer a glimpse into the stories of Rosendale’s past.

We like to think that the generations of family members before us are looking down and smiling at this next chapter. Although we are an ordinary business operating in an ordinary town, it is our sincere hope that when our doors open every morning we can give you an extraordinary experience. Our family and our staff have so much love for this community, and we are blessed beyond measure to do business here.

We invite you to stop in and visit us, grab a great cup of coffee, and tell us your story.
